You'll love how these ground beef tacos are so easy to make yet delicious especially when served either you're favorite crispy or soft corn tortillas.

Lean ground beef is better to use in tacos just because you don't want grease dripping down on and soaking your corn tortillas. =p

How to prepare the ground beef mix:

  • Over medium heat, heat the pan for a few seconds. Add the ground beef and use a wooden spatula to break the chunky parts. Once the meat is slightly brown, drain the excess grease from the pan.

  • Reduce the heat to low and add onion, garlic, paprika, dried oregano, chili powder, ground cumin, and ground pepper. Cook for about a minute or until the onion turns translucent. Don't forget to taste and you can always adjust the flavor and even the level of spiciness to your liking.

  • Add the tomato sauce and simmer (stirring throughout the for 3 -5 minutes or until sauce has reduced and thickened.

  • Serve while warm over warmed tortillas and all desired toppings

How I build my tacos in corn tortillas?

Am not quite sure if there are rules on how to construct the perfect taco other than spreading each ingredient into the taco shell.

Although, you should always start with a shell.

Then, I add the meat.

Some people add the cheese next but I like adding the guacamole on top of the meat because I want more of it in my tacos.

Then the salsa.

The chopped lettuce/ cabbage. It's like using the salsa as a paste of the veggies so they don't fall off easily. You know when you take a bite of the tacos and it's easily deconstructed because everything just fell on your plate. I like building mine like an engineer, lol!

Next, cheese on top of the sour cream, I don't know why, I just enjoy it like that. ;)

A little bit more salsa just to add some contrast, because why not. ☺️

Really, you can build your taco however you want. If opting for a low carb tacos, you can omit the corn tortilla shell and use a lettuce instead. :)

Now, all you need is a good margarita or a mojito and great friends to share it with!

Cheers!
